What we defend

DUI defense

A DUI charge runs on two tracks at once: the criminal case in district court, and your license. We handle both, starting the week you call.

  • The stop

Why you were pulled over, and whether the officer had a lawful reason to keep you there.

  • The tests

Field sobriety tests, the breath machine's maintenance records and any blood draw, line by line.

  • Your license

The suspension, a hardship license where one is available, and the ignition interlock rules.

  • The video

Cruiser and body camera footage, which we request early, before it can be overwritten.

Questions

What people ask us about a DUI charge

I refused the breath test. Does that make it worse?

It changes the case rather than ending it. A refusal can carry its own license consequences, but the state still has to prove you were impaired. We look at how the refusal was recorded and what you were told first.

Will I lose my license right away?

Sometimes, and the deadlines to respond are short. Call us with the paperwork you were handed at release, and we'll tell you what is due and when.

It's my second DUI. Is jail certain?

A second offense carries a mandatory minimum in most places, but how the first one was resolved, how long ago it was, and how this stop went all matter. Don't plead before we've read both files.

Tell us where your case stands

Have the citation or release papers in front of you when you call. We'll tell you the next date and what has to happen before it.
